Biography
KAMAARi is a singer-songwriter and guitarist whose music captures the essence of modern alienation. His lyrics dive deep into the disconnection many feel in today’s consumerist society, a world that leaves little room for genuine human emotion. His songs evoke a longing to escape the harsh realities of life, offering listeners the comfort of dreams as a form of refuge.
His love for solitude and adventure led him far from home, first to the wide open landscapes of Australia, and later back through Europe, where each journey shaped his introspective sound. But before these travels, a pivotal moment came in high school when KAMAARi met his favorite musician, Andrea Ranalletta. Not just a talented drummer and vibraphonist, Ranalletta became a mentor and best friend.
KAMAARi honed his guitar skills under the guidance of Domenico di Girolamo and Corrado Retico, two masters in their own right, while Rossana Spera trained his voice. The connections he made led him to form Rebecca, his first band, alongside guitarist A. Sbrolli, keyboardist D. Tomassetti, and drummer A. Orlando. In 2018, KAMAARi took a bold step forward, self-releasing his debut album, Illusion of Choice. Recorded at the White Room Records studio, it was brought to life with the help of producer F.D. Cicco, drummer F. Colella, and backing vocalist G. Zaccagni.
A natural wanderer, in 2022, KAMAARi found himself in Lisbon, where at the Fatlab Studio, he recorded a collection of songs written when he was living in London.
Around this time, he formed a new band, Stoodis, with bassist C. Kristoppher, electric guitarist J. Biden, and drummer D. Olivera. Before his departure from Italy, KAMAARi’s final Italian band, Canisumarte, featured D. Tiburzi (guitar), E. Morgante (bass), and M. Santomaggio (drums).
Now, with the release of his second album, Mudbound, KAMAARi continues to push the boundaries of his sound. His new work blends acoustic and electronic elements in ways that are fresh yet familiar. Having performed in Italy, England, and Portugal, he now calls Turin his home base, where he continues to craft new music and perform live shows.
